Privacy Policy
In short: the app runs entirely in your own browser. There is no server and no account with me. I do not collect, see, sell or share your data.
Your dive-computer data and dive notes stay on your device. If you choose to connect Google Drive, a copy is saved in your own Google Drive, in a folder only this app can access, and nowhere else.
1. Who this policy covers
“Adam's Deepblu Cosmiq+ App” (the “App”) is a free web app for the Deepblu Cosmiq+ dive computer, created and maintained by Adam (“I”, “me”, “the developer”). It lets you change your dive computer's settings over Web Bluetooth, download and view your dive log, and optionally back up and sync that log to your own Google Drive.
This policy explains what information the App handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have.
2. Information the App handles
| Information | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Dive computer data – settings and the dive log (dive date and time, mode, duration, depth and temperature profiles, gas mix), plus the watch's model, firmware version and Bluetooth hardware address | To show and change your settings and to display, export and sync your dive log | Read over Bluetooth directly into your browser. Saved in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your device |
| Your dive notes – dive site, notes and star rating that you type in | To show them on your dives and sync them | Your browser's local storage on your device |
| App preferences – auto-sync on/off, time of last sync, an optional custom Google client ID | To remember your choices | Your browser's local storage on your device |
| Google account details (only if you connect Google Drive) – your name, email address and profile-picture link | Only to show which account is connected | Your browser's local storage on your device |
| Google access token (only if you connect Google Drive) | To let the App talk to your Drive for about an hour | Your browser's session storage; it is discarded when the browser session ends or when you disconnect |
| App files (offline cache) | So the App opens without internet | Your browser's cache on your device |
The App does not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or analytics, does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not send any of the information above to me.
3. Google Drive (optional)
Connecting Google Drive is entirely optional. If you do, the App asks for exactly one permission:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file– lets the App see and edit only the files and folders the App itself creates. It cannot see, read, change or delete any other file in your Drive.
When you sync, the App creates a folder named “Adam's Cosmiq+ App” in your Drive and saves in it:
logbook.json– your dive log (dive headers and depth/temperature profiles, and the watch's model, firmware and Bluetooth hardware address);annotations.json– your dive notes (site, notes, rating);- Subsurface XML and CSV exports, only when you ask the App to upload them.
The App reads these files back to merge dives between your devices. Your device's settings are never uploaded. All communication goes directly between your browser and Google; it does not pass through any server of mine.
4. How the information is used
Only to provide the features you ask for: showing and changing your dive computer's settings, displaying and exporting your dive log, and syncing it with your own Google Drive. I do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose, and I do not sell it.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)
The App's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, data obtained from your Google account is used only to provide the user-facing features described above, is not transferred to anyone else, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans.
6. Sharing and third parties
I do not receive or share your information. Some third parties are nevertheless involved in running a web app:
- Google – if you connect Google Drive, the sign-in script is loaded from
accounts.google.comonly when you tap Connect, and your data is stored in your Google Drive under Google's Privacy Policy. - The web host that serves the App's files (for example GitHub Pages) may record technical request data such as your IP address in its server logs, under its own privacy policy. This happens when you load the page, not when you use the App.
Your dive computer communicates with your browser over Bluetooth; that link stays between your device and the watch.
7. Retention, access and deletion
You are in control of your data:
- On your device: clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove the saved logbook, notes and preferences.
- In Google Drive: delete the “Adam's Cosmiq+ App” folder (or individual files) in Google Drive. The App only recreates them if you sync again. Note that deleting a dive on one device is not propagated by sync.
- Disconnect: use “Disconnect” on the Cloud tab to sign out and revoke the App's access token on this device.
- Revoke access: you can remove the App's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Because I hold no copy of your data, I cannot access, correct or delete it for you; the steps above do that.
8. Security
The App is served over HTTPS and talks to Google only over HTTPS. The Google access token is kept in session storage and expires after about an hour. Data on your device is protected by your device and browser security, so keep your device locked and your Google account secure. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect information from them. As all data stays on your device or in your own Google account, I hold no information about any user.
10. Changes to this policy
If the App's data handling changes, I will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy: [replace with your contact email] (Adam, developer of the App).
